Steph's Fitness InFuzion - Team 2, Dance-O-Thon for Ovarian Cancer

Story

Dear Family and friends,

I am seeking your support (any help will make a difference) as sponsorship for my dance efforts (here goes the knees again!) in this dancing marathon! I will be joining Steph and other dance crazy friends, as a member in one of the two teams Steph has rallied together.  Steph will also provide one of her Zumba classes as part of this fun event - this will be from approx 4.30pm for an hour. She will be joined on stage by Shawn & Courtney - two of her very fit, very talented, zumba-crazy supporters!

So.......
The Dance-‘O’-thon for Ovarian Cancer is being held on October 25th at the Performing Arts Centre - Brighton Secondary College, Marriage Rd,  East Brighton, Victoria, from 3 - 11pm.

The 8-hour dance marathon is a fun, physical community event raising awareness and funds for groundbreaking research in the treatment of Ovarian Cancer.  Proceeds of the event will go to Ovarian Cancer Australia to support the Australian Ovarian Cancer Study (AOCS). This inaugural event is being held in honour of the many women living with Ovarian Cancer and all who have been touched by this quiet, insidious disease.

Why am I getting my groove on and supporting Ovarian Cancer Australia?

Well, my dear neighbour (a mum of 3) has been battling this disease for about 3 years now, and it has just returned for the third time. She is about to emabark upon a clinical trial of a new treatment at Royal Melbourne and I continue to be encouraged and inspired by her amazing strength and positive approach to her illness. The Professor (a lovely lady and a great speaker) in charge of this trial has agreed to speak at the opening of this event - how wonderful is that, to be supported by this very busy, very awe-inspiring professional, devoting her career and no doubt her life to this work.

So..... in summary, my obejctive in supporting this event is:

"To support women EVERYWHERE (now and in the future) for better treatments and recovery from this ghastly cancer - by helping to fund the critical research needed for earlier diagnoses, better treatments and eventually.......THE CURE" !!!!!!

Join me in dancing the ‘O’ away (at any time from 3 - 11pm -  or just come and see/ hear the great live music)  OR by:
  • Sponsoring me to reach my fundraising target (100% will be donated to OCA)
  • Getting on the dance wagon, too.  For more info or to register for the Dance-O-thon, click here.
  • Share and Like Us on Facebook and Twitter
My sincere and heartfelt thanks for your support!
